There are specific craft supplies and tools that I use all the time. You all are always asking me where did you get that? Or, where can I find that? So I thought why not just put together a blog post of all my favorite craft supplies and tools?
A follower sent this to me and it is seriously the best thing for crafting. It’s WAY better than a sanding block or a file. It is so easy to use and hold. The sanding pads are easy to change and replace. When it comes to removing paper around the edge of a surface this is hands down my tool of choice. I typically use the 80-grit pad.
This glue is my go-to when I need to fuse two surfaces together quickly. It works on virtually any surface you can think of. And it bonds quickly. I used this glue when I created my finial ornaments. I glued plastic bowls together quickly. It has a super strong bond.
I use mostly acrylic paint when I am crafting. It dries quickly, goes on easily, and is cheap. I love using the Apple Barrel brand because it is the cheapest and I think it works great. I usually buy the bigger 8 oz. bottles of the colors I use the most, which are black, white, bright red, and burnt umber. This is a great price, easily accessible, and one of my favorite craft supplies.
I started purchasing this packing paper to put on my work surface every time I make a craft. It has made my life so much easier. I have tried many things that are reusable, but in the end, the ability to just dispose of the mess is easier for me. This will last me forever. And y’all know I do a lot of crafting. It protects my surface and makes my clean-up a breeze.
I use my utility knife almost every single day. Having a sharp knife in the craft room is essential – as it is in the kitchen. There are some things that a sharp knife is crucial for, like cutting foam boards for instance. With this style of knife, you can buy a big pack of replacement blades and replace them frequently. It is for sure one of my favorite craft supplies.
I use a foam pouncer on so many things. They are extremely versatile. I especially love that it has a nice flat surface. It allows you a lot of control when painting specific surfaces and helps prevent you from making too much of a mess. Amazon is a much cheaper place to purchase them. I never wash them. (I am hiding my face from y’all.) I just don’t want to spend the time doing that. So I love getting them on Amazon. I am well stocked and they are inexpensive.
If I am going to paint lines or need a crisp line, Frog tape is what I will use, especially if I am going to be painting my home. It works so well with super crisp lines.
This product is amazing! It fuses fabric together beautifully. I use it to create yard flags, pillow covers, banners, and more. The best part, there is zero sewing required.
This glue stick is way better than the traditional glue stick. I use it when I apply napkins or tissue paper to words. It works beautifully with the burn technique.
This paint is the best for Christmas crafting. I use it to create a frosting look on fake baked projects. It is easy to use and has a fine tip. I love using it on fake gingerbread cookies, gingerbread men, and more.
I love this clay. It is soft and pliable and super easy to work with. It dries beautifully with no cracking and no color change. It is very lightweight. I have made so many different fake-baked crafts with this product and have quickly learned how much I love it. It is definitely one of my favorite craft supplies.
Pinking shears are essential when working with fabric. For real!! They are fabric scissors that cut in a zig-zag pattern. They prevent your fabric from fraying. They also create a fun, whimsical edge. I love using them especially when I am working with Heat N Bond.
More Favorite Craft Supplies.....
I use chipboard sheets so often while crafting. It has so many applications, but my favorite way to use it is as a stencil.
These sticks are extra large and I use them all of the time. I especially love that I can cut them with scissors. I cut the rounded edge off and use them for shiplap and so many other things. These are about 8 inches long.
These are even better than the Super Jumbo because they are longer. These craft sticks are 10 inches long. Sometimes it is just nice to have a craft stick that is nice and long like these.
Speaking of favorite craft supplies, a heat gun is another one I use nearly every single day. I can’t find the same heat gun that I have, but I think they are all about the same and will definitely work for your crafting needs. I use my heat gun to dry paint and glue, remove stickers and labels, and sometimes to blow off my craft table.
I use this every day. It is wonderful to sweep my craft table. I sweep away glitter, dust, and paper right into the trash can. And you just can’t beat Harbor Freight’s prices. This is one of my very favorite craft supplies. I use it every single day.
Of all the glue guns I have tried, this one is probably my favorite. It is inexpensive. It is lightweight. It has low temp and high temp. It stands easily. And, it doesn’t give me any fits. I love using the low temp for most projects because I do not burn myself with it. I use the high temp when I need a lot of hot glue.
These wire cutters are a little on the expensive side. My husband insisted on getting them for me one day. And I must say, I am glad he did. They make cutting thick wire so easy.
I use this red ribbon ALL THE TIME. The great thing about it is that it is so inexpensive. Never buy this size red gingham ribbon at Hobby Lobby because it is way cheaper on Amazon.
